IT’S ALREADY THE END OF WEEK 4! Wow does time fly when you are the happiest person EVER!

This last week’s topic was on Spiritual Warfare, it was my favorite week by far. Everything we learned was so real. Even on my journey to the base a lot of spiritual warfare was going on. The enemy did NOT want me to come down here because he is terrified of what we can do. But he didn’t succeed in bringing us down; we have such a strong team that won’t let anyone stand in our way. We are living our life for an audience of one, Jesus, He is the one who created us and He is the one we are going to live for.

Kenny Peavy from Los Angeles, California was our speaker. He has the gift of prophesy and is so in tune with the Holy Spirit that the first night he spoke to us he affected so many people that the pastor with a team from San Francisco actually came up to him later that night and asked Kenny questions about the Holy Spirit. The pastor said that his church did not believe in what Kenny was talking about but he could feel the Holy Spirit’s presence so much that he had to figure out what the truth is even if it meant loosing his job at the church.

Kenny also felt the Lord telling him to relay a word to another person from that group. He told a guy that he is going to make a huge impact with people on school campuses all over the world. That is what the guy felt called to do but had no conformation that it was the right thing, Kenny had never met nor talked to him before and he got this word spot on. There are so many incredible testimonies like this one and way greater ones that I have witnessed so far that makes me wonder why people would not want to believe in a God that wants to heal, love, and send out others. He doesn’t need us to do His work but He wants to include us! How awesome is that, our God- who is so big He uses the universe as His footstool- wants ME AND YOU to change the world! The world wasn’t supposed to be this messed up, but Satan uses every opportunity he can from the beginning of time to bring us down. His main tactic is using the people we love and respect the most to speak words of death over us. Sound familiar to you? Have the people who “love” you let you down so bad before? It’s not them, we have honest and genuinely good hearts but when they are infused with lies and the enemies message we become a carrier of evil whether we know it or not. So next time you begin to speak a negative word take a step back and realize that it’s not God’s intention to bring others down. Yes there is a difference between constructive criticism and negative words but there is a fine line and you must be very careful when criticizing someone it could leave painful scars you could be cutting into scar tissue. Think before you speak. Love your neighbors as yourself but first of all love God and all of this will be so much easier.

Thursday August 5, 2010 I was made new again. Like an animal shedding it’s old skin and becoming a brand new creature were we who got baptized last week. It was such an amazing experience, we went to a gorgeous beach and were pretty much the only ones there. The sun came out and two of the Costa Rican tropical birds flew into the tree right in front of us. That day was incredible so much had happened; I think I took about 93 pictures. It takes forever to upload pictures onto the blog and we have to pay for our internet time which is why I don’t have more pictures on here but I will for sure put some up because the internet is free for a few days due to the 50^th anniversary.

Since Saturday night we had people arriving to celebrate the 50^th anniversary of YWAM at our base in San Jose, Costa Rica, which was actually representing all of central America. We had teams, schools, staff members, and directors come in from all over Central America. We also had the founders of YWAM, Lauren Cunningham and his wife Darlene Cunningham, come and speak with us. It was actually set up like a seminar so from Sunday evening to Tuesday morning 5 sessions for crammed it and we got to hear Lauren, Darlene, and their song David, who is actually a movie director in Hollywood, all speak along with representatives from each of the bases in other nations. It has been such a privilege to be able to be here during this celebration. It shows what obeying Him one step at a time can do to change the world. Loren Cunningham had a vision when he was a young man and it was a map of the world with waves of youth coming all across the nations growing larger and larger every time the wave receded. 50 years later the vision is still expanding and the flame is moving forward.

Oh by the way we were all assigned trabajitos for this celebration and guess what mine was… cleaning the portapotties luckily the only thing I had to do was look inside them and make sure they weren’t dirty and that they had toilet paper. Luckily I didn’t have to do anything with the toilet bowl!
